Welcome back to Doggo Bloggo! Today I want to appreciate one of my best doggie pals – Mocha, my boyfriend Jonathan’s dog. They adopted her from a local lab breeder when she was 6 weeks old, but they had chosen her 4 weeks prior, knowing she was the one for them. As a puppy, when going through her mischievous stage, she would steal pillows from the couch and run around with them, so quickly that no one could catch her. She would also clench her teeth onto Jonathan’s shirts to let him swing her around and go under the couch, grab onto a rope, and let him pull her out.

Now she is a classy, 8 year old chocolate lab who enjoys playing fetch and tug of war, spending time outside with her mom and dad, and taking walks and rides in the car. She also loves swimming, especially when she gets to jump off of a dock (she looks like an otter in the water) and playing in the snow. Her favorite foods are cheerios, popcorn, and potato chips. Mocha has a half sister, Shylah, who she lived with for years. Although she lives with Jonathan’s sister now, Shylah comes to visit regularly.

As she has aged, Mocha has ended up with some joint problems in one of her back legs, however, this does not prevent her from living a happy and fulfilled life. It also doesn’t hold her back from sometimes sneaking onto the couch when her parents aren’t looking! Caring, passionate, obedient, trustworthy, friendly, loyal, and loving are just some of the words her family and I would use to describe her. Kind and seemingly almost human at times because of her gentle yet lively spirit, Mocha holds a special place in my heart.
